“Musical Ambience” is a series of sound installations created around the theme of “perceiving the environment as music.” In this installation, the ambient noise in the space is captured through microphones and transformed into musical sounds using AI models for real-time timbre transfer.

The transformed sound is then played through speakers and picked up again by microphones. This feedback creates a unique soundscape with layers of depth. Listen closely to the sounds that emerge, shift, and fade in the here and now. How does our awareness of the environment change when ordinary sounds of daily life, the faint sounds we make, become more than noise yet less than music?

Whereas Ambient Music sought to produce music akin to environmental sounds, Musical Ambience sought the opposite: to craft environmental sounds resembling music
