BT, special issue on AI and creativity
I participated in the editorial process of a special issue on AI and creativity for BT (美術手帖), Japan’s leading art magazine. I took part in a roundtable discussion with Akihiro Kubota and Tomoko Shimizu, compiled a timeline of relevant topics and technologies, and supervised Sekaichi Asakura’s science fiction manga about the future of AI-powered art.
This project comes at a time of both excessive optimism and blind rejection towards AI. We aimed to present a balanced perspective on AI and convey a positive message about the future of human creativity—including AI-assisted creation. I hope we’ve contributed to fostering an overall positive impression after reading the issue.
My company, Qosmo, was also featured as a collective of artists working with AI. Thank you!
